Frank Cleary has been a teacher of English and History at second level for 37 years. Most of that time has been served in the Irish Education System at Malahide Community School, County Dublin, where he taught English and History to Leaving Certificate Higher Level.
For ten years he was an Assistant Principal in Malahide and was a mentor to trainee teachers and a member of various staff advisory committees concerned with implementing best educational policy.
He has experience of the Australian Education system, having taught English and History to Higher School Certificate Level in Marist Regional College, Burnie, Tasmania, for two years. He has also worked in the United Kingdom, teaching English to ‘A’ Level at St. Mary’s Catholic School, Bishop’s Storford, Hertfordshire.
Now in semi – retirement, he teaches English in the Institute of Education in Dublin. He is co – author of the Leaving Certificate History textbook “Division and Realignment in Europe 1945-1992”, published by the Educational Company of Ireland.
