Damilola Awelewa is our Year 2 Class Teacher at The Priory Preparatory School. He has vast experience in teaching Mathematics, Science and Computing. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with a B.Sc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics in 2006. He has a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom (June 2016) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics from the University of Lagos.
Damilola has taught Physics and Mathematics to the senior classes of Topmost College, Sagamu. He has also worked as a secondary school teacher in Imola Comprehensive College, Taqwa Private School, Ifako International School and Laura Stephens Secondary School, where he was acting Vice Prinicipal for a time.
Damilola is a dedicated teacher to his class and thoroughly enjoys the children. He takes his role as facilitator and role model to the children very seriously. His dedication to the profession and to meeting each child’s individual needs is his topmost priority.
Damilola has worked as an examiner for West African Examination Council (W.A.E.C), NABTEC, and IGCSE/Check point. While working as Mathematics Coordinator for Year 7-12, he initiated the Maths Clinic Programme aimed at enhancing the numeracy skills of children.
Damilola has undergone several trainings on teaching here in Nigeria and in South Africa. His commitment to his professional development and desire to keep up with international practice is a testament to his love and passion for teaching.
